We intend to restore and provide support for the fantastic machinery that has raced in the Formula One World Championship.

Our current projects are all Tyrrells;  one, the type 017--as raced in 1988 and early 1989, will be vintage raced this year; the other two, both 018 chassis', will be our next projects, as raced in 1989 and early 1990.

The 017/4

Provenance: The 017/4 was raced by the Tyrrell Racing Organisation during the 1988 and 1989 seasons. The 017-type cars raced a full season in 1988 and, in 017B form, ran the Brazilian Grand Prix (chassis #4, this car, finished 7th in that race) and the San Marino Grand Prix at Imola, where Jonathan Palmer qualified chassis #4, but raced chassis 018/1 when Michele Alboreto failed to qualify. Chassis # 4 was a spare for the Monaco Grand Prix and still carries the FIA inspection sticker from it's final World Championship event.

After the car's final season, Ken Tyrrell sold #4 (with two other 017's) to Adrian Hamilton, who subsequently sold the car to Rob Collings. I bought the car from Rob in 1996, and it's been restored to better-than-grid appearance by the folks on the home page.

The Car:

1989—configured as 017B (with the 018's six-speed gearbox, revised rear suspension)

          Brazil: 7th

Imola: Palmer qualified the car here but then raced the 018/1 that Alboreto did not  qualify, finishing 6th.

The 1988 Tyrrell Grand Prix Team:

This is my car, 017/4, with Phil Stratford's car, 017/2. Note the dramatic differences between the high-downforce setup (017/4) and the low-downforce setup (017/2). With Phil's 017/2 returning to England, this is the only 017 chassis in the United States.
